Computerized Imaging
At MoleSafe we use the most advanced video dermoscopic equipment to further facilitate the overall assessment. We utilise the advanced MoleMax HD computerised system to assist in viewing and diagnosing skin lesions as well as performing Sequential Digital Dermoscopic Imaging ( SDDI) . This technology enables us to view, record and compare images over both short and longer periods of time. When there is change in a dermoscopic image over the monitoring period , this can be an indication for biopsy .
What is the Advantage of Computerised Imaging
The distinct advantage of this process is that it saves the patient from unnecessary biopsies and surgeries which up until recently has been the mainstay of managing suspicious lesions. Thus , together with our advanced understanding of dermoscopy, we are able to more accurately assess suspicious lesions and spots and reduce the amount of pain and discomfort associated with biopsies and surgeries.
